The institution wishes to celebrate the actress, screenwriter, director and Quebec lyricist Claudine Monfette, alias
Mufflewell known in the entertainment world since the 1960s.
The one who participated in The osstidcho in 1968 grew up in Outremont and still lives there. For her, the theater on rue Bernard was a
game room and she has served on the Board of Directors of the Corporation du Théâtre Outremont since 2011.

During his career,
Muffle wrote the lyrics to some thirty songs and staged several galas and shows. Recognized for her involvement with emerging artists, she has collaborated with the Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée, Ma première Place des Arts and the École nationale de la chanson de Granby.
“With this prize, I want to support young people, reward them and encourage them to pursue a career in French-language song, a language that I cherish and that we must, by all means, preserve.»
The 77-year-old artist will also sit on the jury to determine the winner.
The call for applications for the first edition will be launched on September 13 and the winner will be announced in January 2023. The prize, presented by The Pressincludes a $10,000 scholarship, directing mentorship and the chance to perform on the Théâtre Outremont stage in the spring of 2023.
