Théâtre Outremont establishes a prize in honor of Mouffe

The institution wishes to celebrate the actress, screenwriter, director and Quebec lyricist Claudine Monfette, aliasMufflewell known in the entertainment world since the 1960s.

The one who participated in The osstidcho in 1968 grew up in Outremont and still lives there. For her, the theater on rue Bernard was agame room and she has served on the Board of Directors of the Corporation du Théâtre Outremont since 2011.

The 77-year-old artist will also sit on the jury to determine the winner.

The call for applications for the first edition will be launched on September 13 and the winner will be announced in January 2023. The prize, presented by The Pressincludes a $10,000 scholarship, directing mentorship and the chance to perform on the Théâtre Outremont stage in the spring of 2023.
