Sweden World Junior Hockey Bronze Medalist

Sweden beat the Czech Republic 3-1 to claim the bronze medal at the World Junior Hockey Championships on Saturday in Edmonton.

In the first half, Fabian Lysell opened the scoring for Sweden. Czechia replied in the second period. Michal Gut tied the game by finding the back of Jesper Wallstedt’s net on the power play.

Six minutes later, Isak Rosen restored the lead after a pass from Theodore Biederbach. Linus Sjodin added an insurance goal late in the game.

Wallstedt made 27 saves for the winners. Tomas Suchanek blocked 20 shots in the Czech net.

Later Saturday, Canada (6-0-0) will face Finland (5-1-0) in the final.

Canada has been crowned 18 times, most recently in 2020.

Finland have triumphed on five occasions, including in 2019 in Vancouver and Victoria.
