The first episode of House of the Dragon, which aired Sunday on HBO-affiliated stations and platforms, has been seen by nearly 10 million people worldwide. This is the best launch of a series in the history of the popular American channel.
Prequel to the famous saga The iron Throne (Game Of Thrones) – also an HBO production, whose finale aired in 2019 – House of the Dragon tells the story of the Targaryen family some 200 years before the events of the original series.
HBO and HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys welcomed the numbers Tuesday in a statement released by trade media.
