Grease back in US theaters

AMC Theaters CEO Adam Aron made the announcement on social media. He explained that the ticket price would be US$5 (CAD$6.4). Of this amount, US$1 (CAD$1.3) will be donated to breast cancer research through AMC Cares, the company’s charitable fund.

Olivia Newton-John had suffered from breast cancer several times and created a foundation in her name to fund research into herbal medicines to cure cancer.

Songs from the musical, including You’re the One That I Want and Summer Nightshave become classics.

In Canada, the film can be seen on Crave, Prime Video, YouTube, Cineplex, Apple+, Club illico, Paramount+, Microsoft and Google Play. It is also offered free of charge in French on the Télé-Québec site, which broadcast it last week, until August 23, 2022.

In Canada, it is only screened in three theaters this weekend: Jubilations Dinner Theater (in Calgary, Alberta), Sussex Drive-In (in Sussex, New Brunswick), and Muskoka Drive -In (in Gravenhurst, Ontario).
