Bleu Jeans Bleu Celebrates Soft Serve Ice Cream in New Music Video

As summer draws to a close, Bleu Jeans Bleu released a jovial and colorful music video on Friday focusing on the nostalgia of a typical summer activity: ordering ice cream at a neighborhood creamery. “Molle vanilla-vanilla twist” is the first single from the quartet’s new album, Top Kittywhich will be released on November 18.

The song evokes the energy of the yé-yé music of the 1960s, coupled with self-deprecating assertive remarks: the leader of the group Mathieu Lafontaine, alias Claude Cobra, has no interest in the taste varieties of frozen desserts, and describes himself of the conservative type at the level of the papillae.

They may invent 1001 new exotic flavors;
Me, it’s a settled file, I’m always going to take a soft vanilla-vanilla twist »

The music video was shot last month in the Crémerie de l’Est, in Sherbrooke. It was directed by Guillaume Monette and Marc-André Laurin, the same duo behind the music video Cotton Hoodie. This flagship song from the group’s latest album, Perfectowas certified Gold (40,000 digital sales) in 2020.

An ambitious tour

After spreading their contagious good humor in Europe this summer – during six concerts in France, Belgium and Switzerland – Bleu Jeans Bleu will begin a tour at the beginning of next year which includes around fifty dates in Quebec, in New Brunswick and Ontario.
